As part of efforts to strengthen nutrition and sustainable livelihoods, a goat distribution programme was carried out in Mathani and Khandke villages by Bosco Gramin Vikas Kendra. The initiative aimed to support vulnerable rural families by enhancing income opportunities while improving household nutrition.
Goat rearing is a practical and low-investment livelihood option, particularly suited to small and marginal farmers. Through this distribution, beneficiary families received goats along with basic guidance on animal care, feeding practices, and health management. The intervention was designed to help families build a reliable source of supplementary income over time, while also contributing to nutritional security through access to milk and livestock assets.
This activity was conducted under the Nutrition, Livelihood and Education Project, supported by Salesian Missions. By linking livelihood support with nutrition and education outcomes, the project adopts a holistic approach to rural development—addressing immediate needs while strengthening long-term resilience.
