285 Check Dam Inauguration by collector Dr. Panchal at Amba village in Partur block
Ahmednagar: October 2024 - The Watershed Work Project in Amba village, Jalna District, funded by Tata Power Community Development Trust (TPCDT) as a CSR partner and implemented by Bosco Gramin Vikas Kendra (BGVK), has made a significant impact. A check dam and desilting work were completed in Amba village, Jalna District. As part of Tata Power's Volunteering Week, the check dam was inaugurated.
Mr. Panchal, the Collector of Jalna District, inaugurated the check dam. He highlighted how the project has improved water levels and commended the volunteers for their excellent work. Mr. Joshi, from Tata Power Renewable Energy Limited (Operations and Maintenance), emphasized the importance of CSR programs in drought-prone areas and noted the reduction in tanker usage. He also mentioned that farmers were able to cultivate a second crop. Mr. Sable, from Tata Power Solar, stressed the shift toward sustainable agriculture and the importance of water conservation.
Fr. George D’Abreo, Director of BGVK, provided guidance on organic farming, while Mr. Vishwas Sonawale explained the purpose and significance of the program. The vote of thanks was delivered by Meraj Khatib, the Sarpanch of Amba village.
