Ahmednagar – 2025: Bosco Gramin Vikas Kendra (BGVK) recently organized an impactful Child Rights Awareness Programme in Ahmednagar district, aimed at empowering vulnerable children and their families from the migrant community. This initiative was conducted under the broader framework of the ‘Project for Migrant Community’, generously supported by the Salesian Mission.
The primary objective of the session was to educate children—about the fundamental rights of every child, including the right to education, protection, nutrition, healthcare, and a safe environment. The programme emphasized the importance of recognizing and upholding these rights in everyday life, particularly in the context of migrant populations, who often face social exclusion and limited access to essential services.
Through interactive discussions, real-life case studies, and participatory activities, the session created a safe space for children. Participants were also informed about the various government schemes, helplines, and institutional support systems available to safeguard child welfare.
This initiative by BGVK reflects its continued commitment to promoting social justice, child protection, and inclusive development. By fostering awareness and encouraging community engagement, the programme marked a significant step toward building a safer and more nurturing environment for children in migrant settlements across Ahmednagar.
