302 Assistance with Birth Certificate Acquisition for Construction Workers at Ahmednagar Municipal Corporation

Ahmednagar – October 2024: Bosco Gramin Vikas Kendra (BGVK) facilitated a visit to the Municipal Corporation in Ahmednagar city to help construction workers obtain birth certificates, a vital document necessary for accessing government benefits, educational opportunities, and healthcare services. This initiative was part of the 'Project for Migrant Children,' supported by Salesian Missions, which aims to improve the quality of life for migrant families and ensure children’s access to fundamental rights. Mrs. Bhavana Ghatvisave, a dedicated BGVK staff member, guided the participants through the application process, explaining the importance of the birth certificate in securing a legal identity for their children and unlocking essential resources.

The visit involved organizing necessary paperwork, ensuring compliance with official procedures, and providing language assistance to overcome any communication barriers with municipal authorities. Thanks to BGVK's consistent support, the construction workers successfully obtained birth certificates for their children, a step that strengthens their access to social welfare schemes and educational facilities. Participants expressed heartfelt gratitude to BGVK, acknowledging the organization’s crucial role in advocating for their rights and improving their future prospects.
