Ahilyanagar (September 2025) – Bosco Gramin Vikas Kendra (BGVK), under the Holistic Rural Development through Sustainable Agriculture, Women-Led Livelihoods, and Credit Access via Joint Liability Groups Project supported by Manos Unidas, conducted a specialized training programme on natural fertilizers for farmers in Nagar block.
The training emphasized the importance of eco-friendly agricultural inputs such as Jeevamrut, Vermicompost, and liquid bio-fertilizers, highlighting their role in enhancing soil fertility, reducing dependence on chemical inputs, and improving crop productivity. A total of 369 farmers from 10 villages actively participated in the programme, with 83 farmers immediately beginning to prepare and use their own organic fertilizers following the sessions.
This initiative not only promoted sustainable farming practices but also contributed to lowering input costs and conserving long-term soil health. Farmers expressed heartfelt gratitude to Manos Unidas and BGVK for equipping them with practical knowledge and tools to adopt environment-friendly and cost-effective agricultural methods.
