018 Solar Based Livelihood training
Ahmednagar: Bosco Gramin Vikas Kendra (BGVK), Ahmednagar organized a two-days training on ‘Solar Based Livelihood' for women from Mehekari. This training programme was held under the aegis of ‘Micro Enterprise Collectives Project- SHGs and FPOs’ supported by Tata Power Community Development Trust, Mumbai.
Three solar dryers have been installed in two locations for the solar based livelihood. The main objective of the solar dryers is to provide ample amount of heat i.e., more than ambient heat under given humidity. It increases the vapour pressure of the moisture confined within the product and decreases the relative humidity of the drying air so that the moisture carrying capacity of the air can be increased. The advantages of dry production is that it is very healthy without using any preservatives.
During the training the participants learnt production of dry items i.e. Pulses (Matki), Lemon grass and Fenugreek, Soyabean, Rajama, Hulaga and Gram. The participants were also taught marketing, costing, budgeting, pricingand branding of product. The participants were confident to start a business. Mr. Sandeep Berad (Staff-BGVK) proposed the vote of thanks at the end.
