Ahilyanagar (September 2025) - Bosco Gramin Vikas Kendra (BGVK) organized a series of health camps in the villages of Nandal, Wathernimbalk, Saswad, and Surwadi in Phaltan block of Satara district, benefiting 264 children. This initiative was implemented under the Rural Health and Nutrition project, generously supported by Cummins India Foundation, Pune.
Health camps in rural areas play a crucial role in bridging the healthcare gap by improving access to medical services, promoting preventive care, and addressing specific health needs in communities where regular medical facilities are scarce. These camps are particularly valuable for the early detection of health issues, ensuring timely medical intervention, and effective management of children health conditions ultimately contributing to the community overall well-being.
The camps were conducted in collaboration with doctors from reputable hospitals, including Dr. Pol and his team, who provided comprehensive health check-ups for the children. Mr. Abba Katkar, a dedicated BGVK staff member, ensured smooth coordination and effective execution of the event.
The villagers expressed deep gratitude to Cummins India Foundation and BGVK for extending this vital support, which made a significant positive impact on their children health and future well-being.
