028 Promotion of Organic Culture Banks
Ahmednagar: Bosco Gramin Vikas Kendra (BGVK), Ahmednagar under the aegis of ‘Vocational Training Centre’ supported by Tata Power Community Development Trust, Mumbai established Organic Culture Banks in Shirsuphal village Baramati block Pune district. The farmers were also given the training on the Organic Culture.
The main resource person for this training was Mr. Sagar Alhat. Three organic culture banks were set up in the village. The farmers were also given a demo on making the organic culture. These culture banks will help farmers to reduce the cost of agricultural production and do away with the usage of the chemicals. It is an alternative to the chemical fertilizers and pesticides. The farmers were also made aware of the cost ratio between organic fertilizers, pesticides and chemical fertilizers. It will also help in maintaining ecological balance and deal with climate change. The farmers were grateful to BGVK and TPCDT for this initiative.
