Ahilyanagar (2025) – Bosco Gramin Vikas Kendra (BGVK), with the generous support of Atos Prayas Foundation, organized awareness training sessions on Reproductive Health and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act for adolescent girls studying in classes 8th to 10th across various high schools.
The sessions aimed to educate young girls about the importance of maintaining good reproductive health, understanding physical and emotional changes during adolescence, and adopting healthy practices. Alongside this, the training also focused on creating awareness about the POCSO Act, helping students to understand their rights, recognize unsafe situations, and learn about safety measures and legal protection available to them.
Through interactive discussions, case examples, and question-answer sessions, the trainers ensured that the girls could openly express their doubts and gain confidence in addressing sensitive issues. Teachers and school staff also appreciated the initiative, recognizing it as an important step in promoting awareness, safety, and overall well-being of adolescent girls.
The program not only empowered the participants with knowledge but also encouraged them to share the learnings with peers, thus spreading awareness within their schools and communities.
