Ahilyanagar, May 2025: Bosco Gramin Vikas Kendra (BGVK), under the Rural Health and Nutrition Project supported by Cummins India Foundation, successfully organized a comprehensive Eye Check-Up Camp in Vitthalwadi village, located in the Phaltan block of Satara district. The initiative provided essential eye care services to 62 community members, reinforcing the organization’s commitment to accessible rural healthcare.
Eye Check-Up Camps like this play a pivotal role in the early detection of vision-related issues and the prevention of visual impairments. Conducted in collaboration with the expert medical team from Kamla Mehta Hospital, Phaltan, the camp ensured timely diagnosis and treatment. As a result, 43 individuals were provided with prescription eyeglasses, while 3 patients requiring advanced care were referred for cataract surgery at the hospital.
Mr. Vilas, a dedicated BGVK staff member, oversaw the camp's smooth execution, ensuring that maximum beneficiaries availed the services. The villagers expressed heartfelt gratitude to BGVK and Cummins India Foundation for bringing such a valuable healthcare initiative to their doorstep. The camp not only addressed critical eye health needs but also contributed meaningfully to enhancing the overall well-being and quality of life of the rural population.
