317 Cataract Care Camp at Tadwale Village, Satara District
Ahmednagar: October 2024 - Bosco Gramin Vikas Kendra (BGVK) organized a comprehensive Eye Check-Up Camp at Tadwale village in Satara district, benefiting 56 individuals. This initiative was part of the Rural Health and Nutrition Project supported by the Cummins India Foundation.
Eye Check-Up camps are vital for early detection of eye conditions and preventing visual impairments. This community-centric approach promotes eye health, ensures accessibility to eye care services and plays a crucial role in preventing visual impairments. The camp was conducted in collaboration with a team of doctors from Budarani Hospital, Pune. During the camp, 39 individuals received prescription glasses and three were referred to Budarani Hospital for cataract surgery.
Mr. Vilas, a dedicated staff member of BGVK, efficiently managed the camp’s operations, ensuring that many community members could benefit from the services. The villagers expressed their sincere gratitude to Cummins India Foundation and BGVK for spearheading this valuable initiative, highlighting its positive impact on community well-being.
