Ahilyanagar – May - 2025: Bosco Gramin Vikas Kendra (BGVK), with the valuable support of Manos Unidas, organized a training program on soil testing at its central office. The session was specifically designed to equip village animators with practical knowledge and skills related to soil sample collection and analysis techniques.
The training aimed to promote scientific and sustainable agricultural practices by helping farmers understand the nutritional needs of their soil. By accurately testing soil samples, farmers can make informed decisions about crop selection and optimize the use of fertilizers, ultimately reducing excessive chemical inputs and minimizing environmental impact.
During the session, participants learned step-by-step procedures for proper soil sampling, preservation, and interpretation of soil health reports. The training also highlighted the long-term benefits of soil testing in enhancing crop productivity, soil fertility, and cost-effective farming.
This initiative marks another step in BGVK’s ongoing efforts to build the capacity of grassroots workers and support climate-resilient agriculture in rural communities.
