As technology increasingly shapes every aspect of life, digital literacy has become essential for education and employment. Bosco Gramin Vikas Kendra (BGVK), with the support of Seven Islands Shipping Company and Don Bosco MONDO, conducted a Computer Literacy Program at Son Ashram School to bridge the digital divide in rural Maharashtra.
The initiative provided computers and professional training to students who otherwise had limited access to technology. The curriculum covered basic hardware and software use, operating system navigation, word processing, spreadsheet applications, internet browsing, email communication, and digital safety.
By bringing technology directly into the classroom, BGVK enabled students to develop confidence in using digital tools for learning and future employment. The program empowered rural youth, especially young women, to explore new educational and job opportunities and helped close the gap between rural and urban access to technology.
Through this initiative, BGVK and its partners demonstrated how targeted digital education can transform communities and open doors to modern opportunities
