031 Healthy Ageing Programme for senior citizens at Don Bosco Savedi

Ahmednagar: Bosco Gramin Vikas Kendra (BGVK) Ahmednagar in collaboration with Parkinson’s Disease and Movement Disorder Society (PDMDS) organized an awareness and interactive session for the senior citizens at Savedi in Ahmednagar under the aegis of ‘Healthy Ageing’ project supported by Parkinson’s Disease and movement Disorder Society.

Healthy aging refers to the process of aging in a way that maintains and promotes physical, mental and social well-being, allowing individuals to lead active, independent and fulfilling lives as they grow older.

The objective of this workshop was to create an awareness on parkinson’s and neurological diseases.  The Manager of Don Bosco Savedi, Fr. Richard welcomed the participants and explained to them the purpose of having this programme. Ms. Bhavana Ghatvisave (Staff of BGVK) then oriented the beneficiaries on various topics as Art therapy, Yoga, Physiotherapy, Counselling, Dance Therapy, Speech Therapy, Food and nutrition and many more health problems associated with it. Being an interactive session, many of the participants asked questions which were being clarified by Ms. Bhavna. The participants appreciated this initiative of BGVK and asked for more regular sessions on monthly basis. At the end of the programme, Ms. Bhavna proposed vote of thanks.
