To strengthen community understanding of public health, Bosco Gramin Vikas Kendra (BGVK), with the support of Cummins India Foundation, organized a street play program in the Satara region. The initiative used theatre-based communication to spread awareness about essential health topics among rural populations.
The performances covered issues such as sanitation, disease prevention, maternal and child health, nutrition, and healthy living habits. By using relatable characters and humorous storytelling, the plays captured attention and made health messages easier to remember.
The interactive format encouraged community dialogue and motivated villagers to adopt healthier practices in their daily lives. The program demonstrated how culturally rooted, creative communication methods could effectively reach people often left out by conventional awareness campaigns.
Through this initiative, BGVK contributed to stronger community engagement, better hygiene practices, and improved health awareness across the Satara region.
