Ahmednagar – 2025: Bosco Gramin Vikas Kendra (BGVK), under the Rural Health and Nutrition Project supported by Cummins India Foundation, successfully conducted health awareness sessions for adolescent girls and women in Lohar Pipliya and Kheda villages of Indore district, Madhya Pradesh. A total of 119 participants actively took part in these informative and empowering sessions.
The event began with a welcome address by Mr. Rohul Koli, who introduced the objectives of the program and the expert speakers. The sessions aimed to raise awareness on personal hygiene, menstrual health, balanced nutrition, and overall well-being. Resource persons discussed key topics such as physical and emotional changes during adolescence, reproductive health risks, contraceptive methods, prevention of sexually transmitted diseases (STDs), and critical issues like sexual abuse and substance abuse. Special emphasis was placed on safe and informed birth control options and understanding one’s reproductive rights.
Participants actively engaged with the resource persons during the interactive Q&A session, demonstrating great enthusiasm and curiosity. The program was met with heartfelt appreciation, as attendees expressed their sincere gratitude to Cummins India Foundation and BGVK for organizing this much-needed initiative and for prioritizing women’s health and empowerment in rural communities.
