Ahilyanagar (September 2025) - Bosco Gramin Vikas Kendra (BGVK) organized a Capacity Building Training Programme for Elected Women Representatives (EWRs) at Ranjani village in Nagar block. The programme aimed to strengthen leadership skills and deepen understanding of Panchayati Raj Institutions (PRIs), enabling women leaders to contribute more effectively to local governance. This initiative was conducted under the Women Empowerment and Leadership for Effective Administration and Development project, generously supported by Don Bosco Mondo and BMZ.
The training covered a comprehensive range of important themes, including:
• Structure and functions of Panchayati Raj Institutions
• Roles, powers, and responsibilities of Elected Women Representatives
• Importance of women participation in governance and decision-making
• Effective engagement in Gram Sabha and Gram Panchayat meetings
• Government schemes and provisions for rural development
• Leadership, communication, and conflict resolution skills
Through interactive sessions, group discussions, and case studies, the programme offered participants practical knowledge on addressing community issues and mobilizing resources effectively. Trainers encouraged women leaders to actively ensure transparency, accountability, and inclusive development in their villages.
The EWRs expressed heartfelt gratitude, sharing that the sessions significantly boosted their confidence and strengthened their capacity to perform their roles more effectively. Many participants emphasized that the programme empowered them to contribute meaningfully to their communities progress.
The training concluded with an inspirational message, encouraging women leaders to continue their empowerment journey and serve as role models for other women in their villages.
