Ahmednagar – 2025: Bosco Gramin Vikas Kendra (BGVK) organized a comprehensive Eye Check-Up Camp at Watharnimbalak village in the Phaltan block of Satara district, benefiting 79 individuals. This vital health initiative was implemented under the Health and Nutrition Project, generously supported by the Cummins India Foundation.
Eye camps such as this play a critical role in the early detection of visual impairments and eye-related conditions, ensuring timely intervention and preventing long-term complications. By bringing essential eye care services directly to rural communities, the initiative promoted accessibility, awareness, and overall eye health among underserved populations.
The camp was conducted in collaboration with a team of expert doctors from Kamla Mehta Hospital, Phaltan. As a result of the screenings, 43 individuals were provided with prescription glasses, while four patients were referred for cataract surgery at Kamla Mehta Hospital, ensuring continued care beyond the initial check-up.
The camp was efficiently coordinated by Mr. Vilas, a committed staff member of BGVK, whose efforts ensured smooth execution and maximum outreach. The local villagers expressed heartfelt gratitude to Cummins India Foundation and BGVK for organizing this impactful initiative, acknowledging its significant contribution to improving community health and well-being.
