158 Demonstration on Nutritious Diet for Women, Adolescent Girls and Children

Ahmednagar – May 2024: Bosco Gramin Vikas Kendra, as part of the Rural Health and Nutrition Project, organized demonstrations on nutritious diets in 19 villages across Phaltan (Satara). A total of 1154 women participated in these programs, aimed at combating malnutrition in all its forms and preventing non-communicable diseases (NCDs) such as diabetes, heart disease, stroke, and cancer.

The resource persons detailed the benefits of these nutritious diets and conducted live demonstrations. They instructed participants on how to prepare various nutritious foods, including Groundnut Laddoos, Methi Parathas, Dal-Rice, Gajar Halwa, and Groundnut Chikki. Recipes were also provided to the participants to encourage them to incorporate these healthy options into their daily meals. The sessions were well-received, with participants expressing satisfaction and a commitment to adopting these practices for the health and well-being of their families.

This initiative, supported by the Cummins India Foundation, received widespread appreciation from the community for its practical approach to promoting health and nutrition.
