Ahilyanagar – November 2025: Bosco Gramin Vikas Kendra (BGVK) took a major stride toward renewable energy adoption by constructing a biogas unit in Rahuri block, Ahilyanagar. This effort reflects BGVK’s dedication to environmental sustainability and rural energy self-reliance.
The biogas unit converts cattle dung and kitchen waste into clean cooking fuel, reducing dependence on firewood and minimizing indoor pollution. Additionally, the by-product—organic slurry—serves as a nutrient-rich fertilizer that enhances soil health.
Villagers appreciated the initiative for its economic and environmental benefits, and BGVK’s team ensured hands-on training for smooth operation and community ownership. The project stands as a model for green technology and rural innovation.
