076 BGVK Promotes Healthy Aging through Parkinson's Awareness Program in Newasa:

Ahmednagar, January 2024 - Bosco Gramin Vikas Kendra (BGVK) collaborated with the Parkinson's Disease and Movement Disorder Society (PDMDS) to conduct an awareness program on healthy aging for senior citizens in Newasa, Ahmednagar district.

The interactive session was organized under BGVK's "Healthy Ageing" project, which aims to educate participants about Parkinson's disease and other neurological disorders. The program was hosted by the Samaj Vikas Samitti, whose staff welcomed the participants and explained the purpose of the event.

Mrs. Bhavana Ghatvisave, a staff member from BGVK, then oriented the beneficiaries on various health-related topics, including art therapy, yoga, physiotherapy, counseling, dance therapy, speech therapy, and nutrition. The interactive nature of the session allowed participants to actively engage and have their questions clarified by Mrs. Bhavna.

The participants appreciated this initiative by BGVK and requested for more regular monthly sessions. This collaborative effort between BGVK and PDMDS not only disseminated valuable information about Parkinson's and neurological diseases but also served as a platform for interactive learning and engagement, aligning with the overarching goal of promoting healthy aging within the community.
