022 Health Awareness Programmes for Womem and Adolescent Girls
Ahmednagar: Bosco Gramin Vikas Kendra (BGVK) organized health awareness session for the women and adolescent girls in the Ahmednagar, Phaltan in Maharashtra and Dewas in Madhya Pradesh. Altogether 2107 adolescent girls and women participated in these awareness programmes held under the aegis of project ‘Rural Health and Nutrition Project’ financially supported by Cummins India Foundation.
Mr. Vilas Alhat (Project Coordinator- BGVK) welcomed the participants and resource persons. The objective of the workshop was to educate adolescent girls and women on personal health, hygiene, sanitation, menstrual cycle, diet and nutrition. The resource persons spoke about physical changes, social and psychological changes, vulnerability to reproductive health risks, reproductive health rights, contraceptives, sexually transmitted diseases, sexual abuse and substance abuse etc. They also emphasized on safe and effective birth control methods.
After the input sessions, there was a question-answer session in which the participants asked questions which were answered by the resource persons. All the participants were grateful to the Cummins India Foundation for this initiative.
