060 Training for the Krishi Sakhis
Ahmednagar 2023: Bosco Gramin Vikas Kendra (BGVK) conducted a training program for Krishi Sakhis representing 25 villages in Ahmednagar and Beed Districts. A total of 33 participants engaged in this insightful training initiative, supported by Manos Unidas.
The resource persons for this program were agronomists, namely Mrs. Kavita Nagare and Mr. Umesh Doiphode. The primary objectives of the program were to cultivate awareness and interest in innovative agriculture. It included elucidating the significance of soil testing, emphasizing the processing of seeds, advocating for the judicious use of chemical fertilizers, introducing vermicompost practices, and promoting the establishment and preparation of Organic Culture Banks.
Women participating in the program were not only interested but also encouraged by the information provided by BGVK staff. They exhibited confidence in asking numerous questions related to different types of seeds and fertilizers, particularly given their dependence on field crops. The training proved beneficial for them, providing valuable insights. The participants expressed satisfaction, citing the program's informativeness. The session concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Mr. Berad, a staff member of BGVK.
