Ahmednagar – 2025: Bosco Gramin Vikas Kendra (BGVK), with generous support from Tata Power Community Development Trust, Mumbai, recently organized a Goat Distribution Program to uplift women in rural communities. As part of the ongoing initiative ‘Empowering Rural Women through Sustainable Animal Husbandry Initiatives’,
The program focused on economically empowering women from Self-Help Groups (SHGs) by promoting goat-rearing as a sustainable livelihood activity. Goats were distributed to selected SHG women from various villages, including Bhurikavthe, Bolegaon, and Kunsawali. This initiative aims to enhance the income generation capacity of rural households by supporting small-scale animal husbandry, which requires minimal investment but yields consistent returns.
The women expressed their gratitude for the support, seeing this as an opportunity to improve their financial stability and contribute meaningfully to their families’ well-being. The program not only boosts household income but also strengthens the spirit of self-reliance and entrepreneurship among rural women.
