Ahmednagar, 2024: Bosco Gramin Vikas Kendra (BGVK) successfully organized a series of Cataract Camps in the districts of Ahmednagar, Satara, and Pune in Maharashtra. These camps were part of the 'Rural Health and Nutrition' project, generously supported by the Cummins India Foundation.

In collaboration with Bhudhrani Eyes Hospital, Pune, and Kamala Mehata Eyes Hospital, Phaltan, BGVK conducted cataract surgeries across all project villages. A total of 2,114 people benefited from these camps, undergoing comprehensive eye examinations.

During the camps, 146 individuals were diagnosed with cataracts and subsequently underwent successful surgical procedures to restore their vision. Additionally, 775 people received much-needed glasses to correct their eyesight.

The beneficiaries expressed their profound gratitude to Cummins India and BGVK for organizing these life-changing camps, which have significantly improved their quality of life by restoring their ability to see clearly.

The success of these camps can be attributed to the strong partnerships forged between BGVK, Cummins India Foundation, and the esteemed eye hospitals involved. This collaborative effort has made a tangible impact on the lives of thousands of individuals, underscoring the importance of such initiatives in improving access to quality healthcare in rural areas.
