Ahilyanagar (August 2025): Bosco Gramin Vikas Kendra (BGVK), with the valuable support of Tata Power Community Development Trust (TPCDT), successfully carried out the construction of watershed structures in Amba village, as part of the ongoing Watershed Project.
The carried-out desilting of nallas and construction of a new check dam in Amba village of Partur block, Jalna district, to strengthen water conservation efforts. These measures helped increase the water storage capacity and ensured that rainwater was effectively harvested. With the structures filling up during the rains, the village experienced a visible improvement in groundwater levels and overall water availability.
The stored water is now being utilized for both drinking and agricultural purposes, directly benefitting the local community. Farmers have gained access to sufficient water for irrigation, while households have relief from water scarcity. This initiative has not only enhanced agricultural productivity but also improved the quality of life for villagers by making Amba more water-secure and sustainable for the future.
