002 Health Awareness Session for Adolescent Girls
Ahmednagar (Maharashtra), November 2022: The Bosco Gramin Vikas Kendra (BGVK), organized a health awareness session for the adolescent girls in the states of Maharashtra and Madhya Pradesh. 1214 girls and children benefited through these sessions held under the aegis of project ‘Rural Health and Nutrition’ financially supported by CSR partner.
Mr. Vilas Alhat (Coordinator- BGVK) welcomed the participants and resource person. Dr Sunita Kharade, Dr Trupri Giri and Dr Himanshi Sing; were the resource persons for these sessions. The objective of the workshop was to educate adolescent girls on personal health, hygiene and sanitation, menstrual cycle and diet and nutrition. The resource person spoke about physical changes, social and psychological changes, vulnerability to reproductive health risks, reproductive health rights, contraceptives, sexually transmitted diseases, sexual abuse, drug and substance abuse etc. They also spoke about the safe and effective birth control methods.
At the end of every input session; a question-and-answer session too was held, in which the participants asked questions which were answered by the resource persons. After the session snacks were served to all.
