Ahilyanagar – May 2025 – Bosco Gramin Vikas Kendra (BGVK), under the Rural Health and Nutrition Project supported by Cummins India Foundation, organized a series of Ayushman Card Registration Camps in the villages of Manjarsumba and Sasewadi block of Satara district. These camps aimed to help eligible families enrol in the Ayushman Bharat – Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (PM-JAY), which provides free health insurance coverage of up to ₹5 lakhs per family per year.
This initiative was particularly impactful for economically disadvantaged and underserved populations, who often struggle with the burden of healthcare expenses. The camps facilitated document verification, on-the-spot registration, and the issuance of Ayushman health cards, ensuring that villagers could easily access quality healthcare services at empanelled hospitals across the country.
The strong turnout and enthusiastic participation of local residents demonstrated a keen interest in availing the benefits of this government scheme. BGVK’s field team, led by Mr. Vilas Alhat and supported by other committed staff members, ensured efficient coordination, clear guidance, and personalized assistance throughout the camp’s duration.
Villagers expressed heartfelt gratitude to BGVK and Cummins India Foundation for bringing such a crucial service directly to their doorstep. The success of these camps reinforces BGVK’s mission of empowering rural communities through improved healthcare access and fostering healthier, more resilient futures for all.
