249 Health Awareness Campaign: Street Play in Lahir Pipliya, Indore

Ahmednagar – July 2024:   Bosco Gramin Vikas Kendra (BGVK) organized a Health Awareness Programme through "Kala Pathak" at Pipliya village in Madhya Pradesh state. A total of 186 beneficiaries actively participated in these health awareness programs, conducted under the aegies of the Rural Health & Nutrition Project, supported by the Cummins India Foundation.

Utilizing street plays or "Kala Pathaks" as a medium for Health Awareness proves to be an effective and engaging communication strategy. The incorporation of street plays and cultural troupes to disseminate information about health and related schemes harnesses the power of art, culture and community involvement to effectively convey crucial information, making it more accessible and fostering positive change within communities.

The program commenced with a welcome note from Mr. Rahul Koli (Staff - BGVK), where he provided insights into the 'Health & Nutrition' Project and its activities. Subsequently, the Kala Pathak team addressed various topics, including Integrated Child & Development Schemes, Mid-day Meal, Poshan Saptah, Vaccination, nutritious food etc. through their folk art.
