“Bosco Gramin Vikas Kendra, (BGVK) to reach over 30 schools with digital awareness initiatives”.
Ahmednagar –2025, The inauguration of the "Digital Literacy Project" was held with great enthusiasm at the Hatdhui Ashram School, spearheaded by Bosco Gramin Vikas Kendra (BGVK). The project aims to spread digital knowledge among students in tribal schools, promote digital literacy, digital safety, Reproductive health and raise awareness Water, Sanitation, and Health (WASH).
Over the next two years, students from grades 9 to 12 will be educated on digital literacy, cybercrime, and digital fraud. For students in lower grades, the focus will be on vital topics such as WASH (Water, Sanitation and Hygiene) and Reproductive Health Education. The event was presided over by Mr. Shivaji Vadvi,the Headmaster of the Hatdhui Ashram School with Fr. George Dabreó, Director of Bosco Gramin Vikas Kendra, as the chief guest. Also present was Mr. Kuvarsing Valvi, President of the School Management Committee. The guests interacted with the students and shared inspirational insights.
Fr. George Dabreó emphasized: “If students from our remote tribal areas receive proper digital education and value-based guidance, they can be as competent as students from urban cities. True transformation happens when education connects with life — and today marks the beginning of that transformation.” In his presidential address, Mr. Vadvi stated: “Today’s student uses a mobile phone, but it's crucial they understand how the mobile uses them. Initiatives like these will help them move in the right direction.”
This project is a significant step toward bridging the digital divide in rural areas. Through Bosco Gramin Vikas Kendra’s efforts, children will develop a positive and safe relationship with technology. The event was smoothly hosted by Mr. Sunil Pawara, with Fr. Ajay delivering the vote of thanks. Special contributions to the event’s success came from Rakesh Pawara, Vandana Valvi, Nilesh Pawara, and Kishor Valvi.
