308 Cataract Camp in Karwasa and Sejwani, Dewas District, Madhya Pradesh
Ahmednagar: October 2024: Bosco Gramin Vikas Kendra (BGVK) successfully organized a Cataract Camps in the Karwasa and Sejwani villages at Dewas district of Madhya Pradesh. These camps were part of the 'Rural Health and Nutrition' project, generously supported by the Cummins India Foundation.
In collaboration with Shankara Eye Hospital, BGVK conducted cataract surgeries across all nineteen villages. A total of 90 people benefited, undergoing comprehensive eye examinations.
During the camps, nine individuals were diagnosed with cataracts and subsequently underwent successful surgical procedures to restore their vision. Additionally, 65 people received much-needed glasses to correct their eyesight.
The beneficiaries expressed profound gratitude to Cummins India and BGVK for organizing these life-changing camps, significantly improving their quality of life by restoring their ability to see clearly.
The success can be attributed to the strong partnerships between BGVK, Cummins India Foundation, and the esteemed eye hospitals involved. This collaborative effort has made a tangible impact on thousands of lives, underscoring the importance of such initiatives in improving access to quality healthcare in rural areas.
