211 Cataract Camp at Pimpalner in Parner Taluka  

Ahmednagar – June 2024: Bosco Gramin Vikas Kendra (BGVK) organized a comprehensive Eye Check-Up Camp for the residents of Pimpalner Village in Parner Taluka. A total of 87 individuals benefited from this initiative, conducted under the aegies of the Rural Health and Nutrition Project supported by the Cummins India Foundation.

Eye Check-Up camps play a pivotal role in early detection, crucial for identifying eye conditions and preventing visual impairments. This pro-active and community-centric approach aims to promote eye health, prevent visual impairments, and ensure accessibility to eye care services for diverse populations. The camp was conducted in collaboration with a team of doctors from Budarani Hospital, Pune. During the camp, 50 individuals received prescription glasses and six were referred to Pune Budarani Hospital for cataract surgery.

Mr. Vilas, a staff member of BGVK, efficiently managed the operations of the camp, ensuring that a significant number of people could benefit from the services provided. The villagers expressed sincere gratitude to Cummins India Foundation and BGVK for spearheading this valuable initiative, emphasizing its impact on community well-being.
