In many rural areas of Maharashtra, limited agricultural income makes alternative livelihood options vital for financial stability. To address this need, Bosco Gramin Vikas Kendra (BGVK) organized a Poultry and Goatery Training Program in Babhaleshwer, equipping participants with the skills to manage small-scale livestock enterprises.
The training covered essential topics such as breed selection, animal health management, vaccination, feed formulation, housing, and record-keeping. Practical demonstrations and hands-on learning helped participants gain confidence in running their own poultry and goat farms.
The program placed special emphasis on empowering women, who often balance household responsibilities with income-generating activities. By managing poultry and goat units, women gained financial independence and contributed to their families’ wellbeing.
Over time, participants who applied their training saw tangible economic benefits, and their success inspired others to adopt similar practices, helping stimulate sustainable rural entrepreneurship.
