248 Vision Care: Cataract Camp at Vitthalwadi village in Satara
Ahmednagar- July 2024: Bosco Gramin Vikas Kendra (BGVK) successfully organized a Cataract Camp at Vitthalwadi village in the Satara district of Maharashtra. This camp is part of the 'Rural Health and Nutrition' project, generously supported by the Cummins India Foundation.
In collaboration with Kamala Mehta Eye Hospital, Phaltan, BGVK conducted cataract surgery in Vithhalwadi village. A total of 73 people benefited, undergoing comprehensive eye examinations. During the camps, nine individuals were diagnosed with cataracts and subsequently underwent successful surgical procedures to restore their vision. Additionally, 46 people received much-needed glasses to correct their eyesight. The beneficiaries expressed profound gratitude to Cummins India and BGVK for organizing these life-changing camps, significantly improving their quality of life by restoring their ability to see clearly.
