257 Adolescent Girls Awareness Initiative in Mhase Village, Ahmednagar
Ahmednagar: August 2024: Bosco Gramin Vikas Kendra (BGVK) organized a health awareness session for adolescent girls at Mhase village in Ahmednagar district. This session was part of the ‘Rural Health and Nutrition' project supported by Cummins India Foundation. A total of 42 adolescent girls participated.
The coordinator, Mr. Vilas Alhat, welcomed the participants and resource person, Dr. Anita Sonawane. The main objective was to educate adolescent girls about personal health, hygiene, menstrual cycles, diet, and nutrition. Dr. Anita Sonawane discussed physical and psychological changes during adolescence. She explained reproductive health risks, contraceptives, and sexually transmitted diseases. Important topics like sexual abuse and substance abuse were also covered. The villagers expressed their heartfelt gratitude to the Cummins India Foundation and BGVK for providing valuable information.
