069 Children’s Day celebration in BGVK, Ahmednagar

Ahmednagar 2023: Bosco Gramin Vikas Kendra (BGVK) organized a ‘Children's Melawa’ on 17th December 2023 at Bosco Gramin Vikas Kendra premises. About 750 children from the Village Education Project - remedial classes participated in this event. It was a whole day event with the games and fun, attractive prizes and sumptuous meals.

The day began with the registration of the students and invoking the blessings of God on the happenings of the day. The students of the Sarola group put the whole event into perspective with a prayer. The chief guest, Fr James Tuscano, along with the Guests of Honour were felicitated. Fr George D’Abreo, Director of BGVK, welcomed the guests and the students and invited them to enjoy the day which was planned especially for them. One of the guest of honor, Mr. Sushil, incharge of CSR for ATOS, said that as students they will do those things well which they enjoy the most. He encouraged them to strive hard towards doing what they loved. Fr. Tuscano said, (Principal of Don Bosco School Savedi) in his speech specially thanked Children who visited BGVK premises for the first time. Children, their welfare, security and development were the main focus in the various speeches delivered by the honourable guests.

 The highlight of the day was the magic show. The magician enthralled the students with his tricks and jugglery. Ms. Gloria Mugutmal, one of the youths of St Anne’s, took a session of dance. The students participated in the session with great energy and enthusiasm.

After lunch, each of the 29 groups put up dances of different genres, cultures, and languages. These dances were filled with colour, energy, and grace. The penultimate surprise for the students was the arrival of the Santa Claus, who distributed sweets, danced with the students, and gave them a message to ‘respect their parents, work hard in their studies, and become good citizens of the country’. The day ended with the distribution of gifts to each student.

Every student felt loved and appreciated and the day filled them with gratitude and the resolve to continue doing their best in their studies.
