221 Training on Climate Change Programme in WDF Ranjani Village

Ahmednagar- June 2024:  Bosco Gramin Vikas Kendra (BGVK) implemented a seed distribution program in Ranjani village as part of the WDF project. This initiative is a collaboration between NABARD, TPCDT, and BGVK.

The project addresses the challenges posed by climate change, emphasizes water budgeting and management awareness, advocates for soil health maintenance, and promotes the use of organic fertilizers and pesticides (such as vermicompost, BD compost, Jivamrut, organic pesticides, insecticides). Additionally, it encourages the establishment of organic culture banks in each village, imparts training in good agricultural practices, including altering cropping patterns and adopting less water-intensive crops, and raises awareness about government entitlements.

BGVK, in collaboration with agronomists, Agricultural Technology Management Agency (ATMA), and other experts, has been conducting awareness and training programs in all the villages, incorporating practical demonstrations. These sessions aim to increase awareness about reducing agricultural production costs while simultaneously enhancing soil fertility to boost agricultural output. Farmers have greatly benefited from the various initiatives of this project and extend heartfelt thanks to NABARD, TPCDT and BGVK for their intervention in making farming more sustainable.
